Description

This wonderful variety of Gaillardia holds a much coveted RHS Fleuroselect Gold Medal and will flower in its first season.

Being low growing in habit it is perfect for bedding schemes, edging paths and borders or for tubs and containers.

Recommended by the RHS to be an excellent attractant and nectar source for bees and other beneficial insects.

  • Bright red flowers have a cheerful yellow margin to their petals.
  • Hardy Perennial.
  • Flowers June to September.
  • Grows to approximately 10 - 12" (25 - 30 cm) tall.
  • Sow outside late February to late May in a sheltered nursery bed or cold frame, then transplant when large enough to handle to their final position, planting 10" (25 cm) apart.
  • Or sow under protection March to April in seed trays and lightly cover.
  • Transplant into pots when large enough to handle and grow on.
  • Harden off and plant out after the risk of any further frosts, planting 10" (25 cm) apart.
