Our Feedback

Invoice Number 24330 Hi, I'm writing to tell you how delighted I am with my recent order of two Kiwi. I was totally blown away at the care that was taken in wrapping the plants (straw) and how moist and healthy the roots were, they arrived in fantastic condition. This is excellent customer service. I work in gardening and have to order plants all the time, I shall order again. What a contrast to recent orders I have made to Thompson & Morgan that took weeks and weeks to arrive and when they did the plants were dead, and the soil around the root in the bag poored out like dry sand. Thank you again.

We are not quite sure what is wrong with the name Calabrese but the supermarkets prefer to call this vegetable Broccoli which in reality it isn't - sometimes its known as Green Sprouting Broccoli but that's as close as it gets!

A very versatile and delicious vegetable with a far more mild taste than purple and white sprouting types - perfect for steaming, stir-fries, gratins and all sorts of things including eating raw in salads. Many young children are encouraged to eat it by calling it 'trees' - our daughters still say they want 'trees' for dinner!

We doubt if you will beat our selection, which is repeat sprouting from June until November. A blend of varieties to ensure continued cropping.

This vegetable is especially good for freezing and nutritionally rich in vitamins so very good for you!

Recommended by the RHS to be an excellent attractant and nectar source for bees and other beneficial insects if allowed to 'go over' and flower (so if you have room leave any plants in that have gone too far rather than pulling them out straight away).

  • Set out 2 feet (60 cm) apart in rows 2½ (75 cm) feet apart.
  • Harvest from June - November.
  • Top Tips
  • Plant firmly, and in windy areas consider staking.
  • Protect from Pigeons - Pigeons love Brassicas (so do Partridges)
  • Take precautions against the dreaded Cabbage White Butterfly - inspect your crop regularly, spray with our BioFriend Plant Defence or use a physical barrier such as insect netting.
