Pollinator FriendlyRHS Award of Garden Merit

Description

A reliable dark red fruited mid to late season variety producing good crops of large, sweet eating cherries of good quality and pleasing flavour.

  • Originated from Canada.
  • Self Fertile - but pollination by another cherry will maximise yield.
  • Grown on Colt rootstock for an ultimate (un-pruned) height of 8 - 12 feet (2.4 - 3.65 metres) but can easily be kept at a height of 6 - 8 feet (1.8 - 2.4 metres).

Recommended by the RHS to be an excellent attractant and nectar source for bees and other beneficial insects.

Recommended by the RHS to assist in encouraging bats into the garden as the flowers are likely to attract moths and other night-flying insects which bats love to eat!
