Chilli Pepper Seed 'NuMex Twilight'

- A highly ornamental variety of chilli which produces masses of small, spicy fruits in a multitude of colours.

Developed in 1992 by our friends at the Chilli Pepper Institute of New Mexico State University (CPI), this Piquin type of Chilli is just as useful as an ornamental as it is for conventional use.
Plants are literally covered in hundreds of erect fruits around 1" (2½ cm) long which ripen from purple to yellow to orange and lastly to red; as they ripen over a period of time the effect is quite stunning with the plant displaying a multitude of colours all at the same time. With a reasonably spicy kick these are sure to cheer up all sorts of dishes both in colour and heat.
The plant has a compact and very bushy habit, growing to around 3 feet (90 cm) tall with a similar spread. It also makes an excellent ornamental pot plant when confined by growing in a smaller container; in Mexico and the US pots of fruiting ornamental varieties such as this are popular Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas gifts.
