Our Feedback
Thank you all very much for the two trees that arrived yesterday. As you may remember they were for my wife's birthday and she was absolutely delighted. We have followed the instructions and they are now looking very nice in our small but crammed garden. They were well packed and even as she unwrapped them she had no idea what they were, a perfect surprise.
So impressed was she with the service, I think other orders may follow.

Regardless of whether vegetables or ornamentals are the main focal point of your garden, there's always room for a few more flower seeds to be sown.
Mr Shirley Senior has provided a list of candidates for your garden, tried and tested over the years and worthy of the Shirley stamp of approval! More...
If you're looking to grow your own this year, why not incorporate some flower seeds into your scheme? After all, a garden devoid of any kind of flower is a very serious, sombre place indeed! Everybody should have a go at growing flowers from seed in the garden, at the allotment, or at the very least in a few window boxes and containers.
Not only do flowers add a splash of much-needed cheerful colour, but they also play a crucial role in attracting both bees and beneficial insects for pollination, as well as providing a greater diversity of foods and habitats for them. Quite simply, flowers really do add a lively 'buzz' to the garden in more ways than one!
Just one packet of flower seeds can become great drifts of colour, texture and tone into your garden, whether it's just a row or two between your vegetables or a more complex, bells-and-whistles ornamental planting scheme. Flower seeds are a fantastic cost-cutting exercise, as they provide an economical way to grow large volumes of flowers with some varieties bringing the savings indoors via a cutting garden.
A cutting garden can be as large as a long border in your garden or plot, or as compact as a corner of your vegetable bed. Whatever your inclination, who can't resist the allure of a pretty arrangement of fragrant, fresh home-grown flowers, with the knowledge that they can be replenished free of charge throughout the growing season?
Whilst we're more than aware that our flower seed listing isn't exhaustive, we have provided a worthy list of old favourites, specially selected by Mr Shirley Senior for their easy, reliable and worthwhile growing characteristics. Almost all of the flower seeds in our list can be seen at their very best in our flower and cutting garden, right here in our Kent nursery.
