Our Feedback
Thank you for the prompt delivery of excellent trees; that have their pride of place in our son's garden. We thought it a far better wedding present than duplicate of other things.:) Many thanks.

Description

Popular in many UK vineyards, this red grape produces excellent quality fruit for juicing or making wine. The fruits are early to ripen (making it ideal for more northern gardeners) and in good growing years the fruit produced will be sweet enough to eat.

Due to the high sugar content, the deep purple-black fruits are renowned for producing wines with a high alcohol content and a rich colour.

With an excellent resistance to fungal diseases this is a grape that is very hard to beat!

  • Originally from Germany.
  • Parentage: Chambourcin x Muller Thurgau.
  • Early-season fruit ripening (leaving the fruit on the vine for as long as possible will really boost the sugars).
  • Winter wood ripening is good - so can be grown both outdoors or under protection (greenhouse, polytunnel or conservatory).
  • Can be trained using either the cane replacement method or spur pruning.
  • Self fertile.
  • Fruit contains seeds.
