Our Feedback
My Asian Pear Trees arrived today, thank you. Very well wrapped and in good order. One is for a friend, and one for myself. Fortunately I had left the outside door open, and shut the inner door, as I must have been in the garden when the parcel was delivered, or they might have taken my trees away!

Description

A useful spring vegetable producing several nutritious small heads per plant.

Out of interest, and to extend the season, we offer a blend of both purple and white sprouting broccoli that does not come ready to harvest all at once - but will extend from February until May.

Recommended by the RHS to be an excellent attractant and nectar source for bees and other beneficial insects if allowed to 'go over' and flower (so if you have room leave any plants in that have gone too far rather than pulling them out straight away).

  • Sow in seed trays April-May.
  • Pot on seedlings before planting out.
  • Set out, when hardened off and large enough to handle, 2 feet (60 cm) apart in rows 2 feet (60 cm) apart.
  • Harvest from February-May.
  • Top Tips
  • Plant firmly, and in windy areas consider staking.
  • Protect from pigeons - pigeons love Brassicas (so do partridges)
  • Take precautions against the dreaded Cabbage White Butterfly - inspect your crop regularly, spray with our BioFriend Plant Defence or use a physical barrier such as insect netting.
  • Pick regularly so that more shoots grow.
