Our Feedback

I purchase trees, and fruit bushes and canes about six weeks ago. Every item is doing exceptionally well and I very pleased with the purchase. The plants were far more advanced and healthier than those I have purchased from other on-line/catalogue companies. I will be back. Thank you.

With a strong aromatic flavour, many only consider Tansy to be useful as a natural insect repellent; a plant or two in the kitchen will reduce the number of flies who will visit! Around the house it is probably better to tie and hang bouquets of dried flowers or foliage (or both); these will not only keep flies away but also ants, and even moths (so perfect for the clothes cupboard).

But with a flavour similar to Rosemary it is also a versatile kitchen herb that can be used with both sweet and savoury dishes alike.

  • Hardy perennial.
  • Grows to approximately 2 - 4 feet (60 - 120 cm) tall.
  • Prefers full sun to light shade.
  • Doesn't like to sit in wet ground, but likes a moist, well draining soil.
  • Dark green leaves which are 'toothed'.
  • Has flat umbels of golden-yellow button like flowers.
  • Flowers July - September.
  • Will spread quite vigorously.
  • Plant out 3 feet (90 cm) apart.
  • Roots can be divided in the Spring or Autumn.
  • Can self seed.
  • Culinary Uses.
  • Leaves can be stewed with rhubarb.
  • Tasty rubbed onto meat, like rosemary.
  • Can be used to flavour sausages, omelettes, meat pies and stuffing.
  • Medicinal Uses.
  • Can help with bruising, rheumatism, varicose veins and sprains.
  • Can be used to expel worms.
  • Other Uses.
  • The flowers can be dried to become 'everlasting' flowers!
  • Will repel insects, so can be good planted near fruit trees, or hung indoors.
  • The leaves contain insecticide that can deter mice, ants, fleas and flies.
  • If the flowers are boiled they will produce a lovely golden yellow dye.
  • Added to your compost heap will help produce a potassium mix.
