We saw our first copy of Home Farmer last month with an article on Manchester City Council reviewing its approach to allotments and I wrote an article in response. Not been able to get hold of a copy of the following edition anywhere and as we currently live the literal Good Life, are not able to subscribe yet.
Good to know you are out there somewhere though. We are getting bookings for poultry care, healthy eating and green exercise sessions from schools, social housing landlords and residents groups, so things are picking up, but I do want to continue to explore new approaches to inner-city growing, poultry and bee-keeping as we work our way out of this recession. Indeed, we need joined up approaches that ensure that farming takes its rightful place as a leading ethical lifestyle that is affirmed and cherished instead of clinicised to death.

After a long wait my Samphire plants have finally arrived and I am so impressed I immediately wanted to order some more.
Oh and by the way, thank you for packing all of your plants so well. Even though it is quite frustrating to sieve through all the shredded newspaper and then trying to dispose of it with bits blowing all over the place(especially with bigger plants), your system really works and seems to be the best way of protecting the plants. I have had some bad experience with other garden centres before and actually vowed never to buy plants online again, yet you have really managed to convince me that it can be quite safe.

Quick delivery for my crab apple tree and cucumber seeds - thanks! I'm looking forward to receiving my strawberry and raspberry plants. One comment on your website - where you specify a propagation temperature, you are using only Farenheit, I must be too much of a young thing as my brain only works in Celsius. Would you be able to add the Celsius information some time as I am having to convert everything. It makes it tricky when I am browsing the site trying to work out in my head how I would grow something. I don't normally do this (perhaps I should!) but I wanted to let you know how pleased I was with the fruit bushes,etc. They arrived this morning and after undoing the excellent packing I was impressed with how strong and healthy the plants were. I have spent a very pleasant spring day heeling everything in.

Last November I planted your Polka raspberries. They are now strong tall vigorous canes, tallest I have ever grown and producing throughout the summer. I'll need steps to pick the late ones!!

Any thoughts on supplying Agretti seeds(the new trendy Italian green veg)? i have just received and put into a pot, the cherry tree i ordered and must say i am very impressed with the quality, i can move it around during the summer to decide the right position, the only problem i have is i don't have enough garden to make an orchard. but will definetly order again if i find i do have space. I just wanted to say that this is an excellent site. I ordered seeds (veggies) and organic vegetable growing guide book and all I can say is that the service has been absolutely fantastic. Most seeds are sown and already starting to sprout. The Kitchen Garden leaflet is a fantastic idea. I have copied this and have one in the greenhouse and a spare in the house. I wish that you would change the policy to when printing your seed packets to put the instructions on the packet PLEASE! I have several times picked up a packet of your seed and taken it outside to sow having forgotten that there are no instructions whatsoever on the back of the packet. Thank you for the recent delivery of my Damson tree's and fruit bushes. There was a slight problem with one missing bush but you sorted it out quickly with no qualms. I must say, the quality of the specimens are exceptional and quite a bit larger than fruit bushes that I've ordered from other nurseries in the past. Well done and best of luck with your enterprise. Most of my experements went well, the tree tomato,tomato shirleys pixie, matts wild cherry all did well but our short season is prooving it difficult to get them to ripen, roquette, spinach, coriander and basil all gave a good crop and we are still using them. The courgette eight ball gave great plants but needs a lot of attention I dont think its one for the polytunnel. I will be in touch for next seasons trials. Just a note to say how pleased I am with the carnations I ordered earlier this year.They are putting on a tremendous show and the perfume takes me back to sitting in my grandfathers garden in the 1940s.Do you or will you have any different varieties,if soI would like to order. JUST TO LET YOU KNOW THE JERUSALEM ARTICHOKE ARRIVED THANK YOU ROR A QUICK RESPONES Very impressed with the cherry trees recieved in perfect condition.planted as per instructions.I would like advice, as now I have got them I am told I will never have cherries as the birds always get there first.As the trees max height is 8ft is there some way I can protect them and when is it the beast time to offer this protection. Here on the nursery we have found hanging old cd's in the tree the most effective method of control; these must be in place from approximately mid March until after the fruit has been harvested. Just to let you know the Fig Tree arrived safely and Grandad is thrilled to bits with his new present for the allotment. Worth every penny! Just to say thank you. The Heron protection electric fence is just great. Ordered Thursday, delivered Monday, finished installing on Wednesday, the pond was attacked Wednesday night I am not sure if it was a cat or heron but my prize fish is still cruising around. I knew the electric fence would work, as I thought I would improve the route to earth by adding an extra earth wire round the pond and back to the energizer, thinking it's not going to have much power I did not turn the mains off, the earth wire touched the live wires, and although I don’t have much hair, I believe what I have was styled into a punk hair do in an instant. Excellent piece of kit, along with excellent service and advice. (plus Hair styling optional extra for thick'os who don't respect electricity).

I have now planted the fruit trees that I ordered from you, and i am very impressed both by the standard of the trees, as well as the packaging, as it is always a little bit heart stopping when you unpack anything like a tree that has come through the post, but I read what other customers of yours had said first, so I did not worry to much!

Just come across your website, its brilliant, times like this I wish I didn't live in IOM - hate to think what the carriage would be for all the stuff I fancy buying (must be time for a trip to the UK - by car). Also been looking at your slug VANISH product sounds interesting and as far as the problem with the severe leaf damage to the rhodi's is concerned I can't think of a more appropriate end to our revolting inheritted specimens!
