Our Feedback
Fantastic quality of trees, vines and plants. Very professional service. If only all sellers opperated at this level. Had one vine that got caught up in a late delivery but the staff were really helpful and replaced it immediately. I will recommend to friends and family.

Description

A special blend of the shorter varieties of sunflower, with nothing growing much taller than 5 – 6 feet (1.5 - 1.8 metres); but what they do all have are really large flowers of superior quality in a range of quite distinctive types from pale yellow, bright yellow, orange and red zoned; a mix of five distinct choice varieties.

Really cheerful and a plant loved by children because of their rate of growth and size of flower. Come the Autumn and Winter the flower heads become fantastic pre-filled bird seed holders too, it's great fun to watch the birds eat the seeds!

Recommended by the RHS to be an excellent attractant and nectar source for bees and other beneficial insects.

  • Hardy Annual.
  • Excellent for Cut Flowers.
  • Flowers July – September.
  • Grow to approximately 5 – 6 feet (1.5 - 1.8 metres) tall.
  • Sow February to March, individually in 3" (7.5 cm) pots by pushing .75" (2 cm) into the compost. Germinate and grow on under protection.
  • Harden off and plant out after the risk of any further frosts, planting 2 feet (60 cm) by 2 feet (60 cm) apart.
  • Or sow March to April, where they are to flower. Sow two seeds per station " (1 cm) deep 18" (45 cm) apart in rows 18" (45 cm) apart.
