Supplied as a bare root tree pruned to approximately 4 - 5 feet (1.2 - 1.5 metres) tall including roots.

A popular russet eating apple that dates back to Victorian times with a nutty aromatic flavour. Good keeping qualities and both disease and scab resistant.

Season of use December - February.
First introduced in 1821, Surrey, UK.
Self Sterile - requires a pollinator (another apple).
Grown on MM106 rootstock for an ultimate (un-pruned) height of 12 - 15 feet (3.65 - 4.6 metres) but can easily be kept at a height of 6 - 8 feet (1.8 - 2.4 metres).

Recommended by the RHS to be an excellent attractant and nectar source for bees and other beneficial insects.
