Supplied as a bare root tree pruned to approximately 4 - 5 feet (1.2 - 1.5 metres) tall including roots.

A late keeping cooker with all the distinctive qualities of a true Victorian variety - being both sharp and juicy. It stores extremely well, and during storage the flavour mellows making it suitable as an eating apple after Christmas.

Scab resistant.

Season of use October - March.
First introduced 1841, Hertfordshire, UK.
Self Fertile - but pollination by another apple will maximise yield.
Grown on MM106 rootstock for an ultimate (un-pruned) height of 12 - 15 feet (3.65 - 4.6 metres) but can easily be kept at a height of 6 - 8 feet (1.8 - 2.4 metres).

Recommended by the RHS to be an excellent attractant and nectar source for bees and other beneficial insects.
