Clematis 'William Kennett'![]() Clematis 'William Kennett'5" – 8" diameter deep mauve-blue purple flowers with purple or dark red stamens on white filaments and, before it fades, a bar light red towards the base. The centers of the tepals fade in the sun creating a two-tone effect. Suitable for any aspect though, like all Clematis, prefers a shady cool root run. Flowers May, June, July, August and September. Approximate maximum height 18ft (requires support). Raised by G Jackman & Son, United Kingdom and first introduced in approximately 1875. (Breeding is sometimes attributed to Henry Cobbett). Supplied as a pot grown plant grown in a 7cm pot.

Pruning Clematis 'William Kennett'Although no regular pruning is required, you may wish to remove any dead tips from the stems. This will keep the plant looking tidy. In late February or early March, working down from the tips, follow each stem until you come to a pair of live buds. Remove the end of the stem by pruning just above this point. |
