Levisticum officinalis

A flavoursome useful plant that gives a very pleasant taste to the palate if a few crushed leaves are added to Whiskey! A yeasty celery aroma arises which is quite delightful. Lovage also makes a pleasant cordial.

Perennial in habit the stems can be used as you would celery with cheese, in soups, stews or as a roast vegetable to accompany the Sunday joint.

Supplied as a packet of approximately 85 seeds.

How To Grow Lovage

Whilst you can sow directly in shallow drills in the ground when soil temperature is around 55°f - 60°f (15°C) better results are achieved by sowing directly in pots or seed trays in good seed compost.
Keep out of strong sun light until they have germinated and produced true leaves.
Plant out or pot on when the seedlings are large enough to handle.
