This really is a 'proper' digging fork - just smaller in proportion and so perfect for young hands.

There's nothing novel or bendy about this as its made to the same high standards as Burgon & Ball's  famous tools for grown ups - and as Burgon & Ball have been making tools in Sheffield, England for over 280 years so they know a thing or too

  • Comfortable 'Y' handle made from strong Ash wood and through-riveted for long life.
  • Riveted socket for extra strength.
  • Polished stainless steel for easy movement through soil and rust resistance.
  • Head width 13.5 cm (approx 5"), head height 17cm (approx 6½").
  • Overall height 77 cm (approx 2½ feet)

We would say this spade is the perfect size for children 3 - 10 years in age, or possibly older (the tag on the tool says, "PS Just a word of warning, as these tools are so cute and lovely you might find your mum and dad have their eyes on them so we recommend storing them in a top secret place.")

This tool is not a toy and should be used under appropriate adult supervision.

Supplied as one child's digging fork. .

I have just tried growing your Victorian colossal pea, with fantastic results. We have a small garden and my wife found these thinking we would get more for the same space as the 'normal' peas. Problem is they are so heavily laden with pods they are tearing from the support frame and I have had to tie them up with soft string. A problem that is very welcome. I have just sown more in the greenhouse to plant out for a later crop. I have also tried your coloured carrots but too soon to try, but I will be ordering more seeds and greater variety in the future. Best wishes
