This Nutscene Fillis Twine is far better for use in the garden than string! 3 ply for good strength, it's soft and pliable, economical and unobstrusive.  It's wrapped in a spool so you simply pull from the middle so it doesn't get tangled!  It is made from only natural products and sustainable sources and can be easily composted too - what more could you ask for!!

You can use it to tie in your climbing vegetables or flowers and at the end of the year not have to worry.

We use this here at the nursery for so many things and have found it to be strong (and not snap when you are trying to tie it), we just don't know how we managed before we started selling it!

The Story of Jute.

Jute fibre is obtained from plants of the genus Corchorus and is therefore a natural product.  It is 100% bio-degradable, recyclable and harvested from renewable sources.  This environmentally friendly plant produces one of the strongest natural fibres.  It has a golden, silky shine and hence is known as 'the Golden Fibre'.  It is second only to cotton in the amount produced and variety of uses.  It was in Dundee, Scotland during the industrial revolution that the production of jute became renowned. Here, jute's versatility was developed into the many uses it now has today.

Nutscene Ltd has been importing natural fibres to Scotland since 1922. Twines are wound in the beautiful county of Angus in Scotland, using the original machinery first used in 1922.
