This is a good plant for the pond in helping to remove ammonia and nitrate salts that occur in ponds populated by fish.

Every pond should have a few of these to be planted as marginal plants where they can grow to the size of a dinner plate in circumference with splendid rich yellow flowers from late April onwards.

Sometimes flowers can be semi-double.

Recommended by the RHS to be an excellent attractant and nectar source for bees and other beneficial insects.
