This really is a lovely plant. Growing to around 12" - 18" tall the thin almost grass like leaves terminate in a pretty blue flower - almost like a miniature Iris in appearance. Each flower lasts, at best, a day (hence the name Dayflower) - but usually has started to shrivel by just after lunch. But each stem has multiple flowering bracts so overall its flowering season is very long. A really worthwhile addition to the garden and an excellent groundcover. Thrives in a moist but well-drained soil. For ground cover purposes plant 10" apart. Supplied as compost block grown plants.
