Cranberry 'Early Black'Vaccinium macrocarpon 'Early Black'A fruit that hardly needs any description, Early Black is popular American variety of Cranberry that produces large juicy red Cranberries delicately tinged black. Growing to around 2 feet tall, this small evergreen bush does best in full sun or a semi shade position, and must have an ericaceous soil or compost. Delicate bell shaped flowers are followed by the all important berries - which are ready for picking from late July to August. High in Vitamin C, the fruits can be made into pies and puddings, crushed and made into juice, or made into Cranberry Jelly - perfect for the Christmas Turkey! Self fertile.
