Description

A fairly old and reliable variety of red currant that produces heavy yields of long strings of pale red berries that almost glow.

The pleasantly firm textured berries have a lovely tart flavour - making them perfect for pies, puddings and jellies.

Without training it will produce an open slightly spreading bush, but is also perfect for growing on wires or as a cordon.

Recommended by the RHS to be an excellent attractant and nectar source for bees and other beneficial insects.

  • Harvest from early July.
  • Self fertile.
  • In bush form 'Rondom' is best planted 5 x 5 feet (1.5 x 1.5 metres) apart and kept at around 4 - 5 feet (1.2 - 1.5 metres) tall.
