Description

Sometimes known as 'Thornless Evergreen' this is a lovely variety of Blackberry with a highly ornamental leaf shape which is vaguely similar to flat leaf parsley and, come the Autumn, is tinged a beautiful deep red. From our own experience it is more semi-evergreen in habit than fully evergreen.

This is definitely a variety that could be used as both an ornamental and a fruiting plant.

These were featured on the BBC Great British Garden Revival presented by Alys Fowler - who came to see us in the Summer to talk about all sorts of berries, and this just happened to be one of her favourites!

Traditional 'round shaped' berries are produced in abundance in late August - September - and can even continue on until October.

Semi-vigorous in habit so allow 6 feet (1.8 metres) between plants.

Recommended by the RHS to be an excellent attractant and nectar source for bees and other beneficial insects.

  • Harvest from late August.
  • Self Fertile.
  • Semi-Evergreen.
  • Plant 6 feet (1.8 metres) apart.
