One of the most common and widespread varieties which is resistant to both Spring frosts and drought. Very vigorous bushes and very high yielding with the branches often bending under heavy fruit. Ripening starts late July / August. The light blue berries are large, firm and gathered in clusters. Commercially Bluecrop is regarded as the best variety Suitable for both open ground (plant 4-5ft apart) or container growing. Ericaceous so will require soil or compost of an acidic nature.
