Now firmly established as the Supermarkets' favourite raspberry (but don't let that put you off), Tulameen combines outstanding fruit quality and excellent yield. Bred in British Columbia from a 'Glen Prosen' cross. An exceptionally long picking season starts mid July and continues on to mid August - highest yields being at the beginning of August. Tulameen produces very attractive, bright, glossy fruit with a distinctive conical shape and excellent flavour. The berries keep their shape well when picked and have excellent keeping qualities. Fruits are large at around 5 - 7 grams each and size is maintained throughout the picking season. The canes are tall (up to 6ft) with few spines and easy to manage. One important thing to note is this variety can be very late to emerge in Spring and the variety has good Winter hardiness.
Guidance on planting and pruning can be found at Raspberry Planting & Pruning Recommended by the RHS to be an excellent attractant and nectar source for bees and other beneficial insects. Supplied as bare root canes pruned to approximately 2 - 3 feet (60 - 90 cm) tall including roots.
