Savoy cabbages are quite simply fantastic Probably the hardiest of all the cabbage family these will thrive in a cold damp Winter and will withstand lower temperatures than most other crops, making them the perfect Winter standby vegetable. Some people are put off growing and eating cabbage because of their experiences of soggy cabbage served up at school; Savoy cabbages will restore their faith - crunchy and full of flavour this is a vegetable that can be prepared in oh so many ways from the plain and simple to the gourmet. Shredding finely and pan frying in butter, a splash of white wine and finishing with grated nutmeg combines the two into a plain and simple gourmet dish Once again we have carefully blended a selection of Savoy cabbage varieties which will provide a successive harvest and get over the all 'coming at once' problem attached with growing just one variety. Recommended by the RHS to be an excellent attractant and nectar source for bees and other beneficial insects if allowed to 'go over' and flower (so if you have room leave any plants in that have gone too far rather than pulling them out straight away). Supplied as compost block grown plants. For a little more in depth information on Cabbage Plant - Savoy Selection you may find the following articles of great use...
