Our Feedback
My father and I have been looking for my Grandad's onions for years and we have found them on your website! We look forward to growing our own everlasting siberian.
Karyn, Bradford on Avon
Vegetable growing is now easier and more popular than ever, so why not guarantee your growing success with Victoriana's very own tried and tested vegetable seed selection?
Our reliable vegetable seeds are specifically selected based on their excellent flavour and growing characteristics - perfect for 'growing your own' on any scale, from patio plant pot to smallholding field. More...
Whether you're intent on growing vegetables on a modest scale in your garden's veg plots, or have designs on a life of self-sufficiency via the allotment or smallholding, you can find the best selection of tasty vegetables in our vegetable seed online catalogue.
The first thing you should know about our vegetable seed section is that everything we sell is grown and eaten by Victoriana's own Shirley family, so we genuinely know the growing characteristics and flavour of the vegetable seeds that we sell.
The greater part of our vegetable seed range consists of historic and traditional non-hybrid varieties. The reason for this is simple - from our own experience, these heritage and non-hybrid vegetable seeds are better suited for home growing. But that's not to say that we're not open to embracing 'the new', which is why you might find that our vegetable seed catalogue also features a few modern Hybrid (F1) varieties too. We sincerely believe that the most important factor in the growing of vegetables is their flavour, and we have carefully selected our range of vegetable seeds based on this simple, straightforward ethos. So aside from our range of chillies and tomatoes, you'll only find one or two varieties of each vegetable on offer - but whatever you do opt for, you can be sure your taste buds will certainly be in for a treat!
And as advocates of wildlife-friendly growing, you won't be surprised to learn that our vegetable seeds are all naturally produced. In fact, Victoriana's vegetable seed selection is GM-free and we avoid treated seeds that have been subjected to any application of chemical pesticides and fungicides.
Lastly, if your allotted vegetable growing space is of a very modest size, don't despair - we supply many vegetable seeds that can be grown in containers, perfect for patios, balconies, and even the odd flat roof! Beans, tomatoes, carrots, peas, lettuce and potatoes are just a few examples of vegetables that will happily grow in containers and tubs, and still go on to produce a bumper crop.
With a flavour similar to a cross between peas and asparagus, this old vegetable is a real gourmet delight that is now seeing a comeback.
