Aubergine Seed 'Black Beauty'Solanum melongena 'Black Beauty'The distinctive purple black fruits of this variety have an excellent texture - and don't seem to absorb oil when being cooked as easily as other varieties. Popular for Mediterranean and Asian cooking these are gorgeous simply sliced, dipped in egg, and then breadcrumbs before shallow frying. Eggplants, as they are commonly known, will produce the heaviest crop if grown under protection - but a sunny spot outside, sheltered from cold winds, will similarly produce a very worthwhile crop. Supplied as a packet of approximately 20 seeds.
