Looking more like eggs than most eggplant fruit (due to its all white colour) this early maturing variety produces a heavy crop of firm textured fruits with an excellent flavour.

The fruits are usually large - up to 7" (17 cm) long - and more of a uniform cylinder shape. A very versatile vegetable that has huge popularity in Asian and Mediterranean cooking.

Eggplants, as they are commonly known, will produce the heaviest crop if grown under protection - but a sunny spot outside, sheltered from cold winds, will similarly produce a very worthwhile crop.

  • Sow under protection two seeds per small pot March - April.
  • Germinate at a temperature of 64-77°F (18-25°C)
  • Transplant and grow on in larger pots when large enough to handle.
  • For greenhouse or polytunnel growing plant out into either larger pots, growbags or the ground when more established and provide a sturdy support.
  • For outdoor growing transplant outside after the risk of frost has passed into a sunny sheltered spot; plant out 36" (90 cm) apart in rows 36" (90 cm) apart and provide a sturdy support.

Supplied as a packet of approximately 15 seeds.

Just to say I was looking for more info on growing tomatoes in my second year of owning a greenhouse and new (well very old and neglected garden). Your video part1 was so helpful and I am delighted to realize you are quite close and in planning the other re-planting of the garden will anticipate a visit very soon!! Thank you again
