How To Sow & Grow Our Brussels SproutsSow April to May thinly in rows 6" apart. Sow in 2½" deep drills. Alternatively start in seed trays. Set out when large enough 2½ ft by 2½ ft apart. Harvest mid September - April. Top Tips Plant firmly, and in windy areas consider staking. Protect from Pigeons - Pigeons love Brassicas (so do Partridges!) Take precautions against the dreaded Cabbage White Butterfly - inspect your crop regularly, spray with our BioFriend Plant Defence or use a physical barrier such as insect netting. Harvest from the bottom of the plant upwards. Sprouts harvested after frosts will have better flavour than those harvested before.
