An 'old' proven hardy variety that tinges purple red when blanched. Stands very well and has an excellent flavour.

Excellent for Winter soups and of course with cheese biscuits.

  • Sow under protection March - April in modules or small pots. Barely cover the seed.
  • Grow on under protection allowing the plants to root out fully and produce a reasonable amount of leaf.
  • Plant out 12" - 18" (30 - 45 cm) apart in rows 12" - 18" (30 - 45 cm) apart in late May / early June and after all fear of frost.
  • Do not be in too much of a rush to plant out - as premature planting when cold will cause bolting.
  • Top Tips
  • Celery prefers a deep and rich soil.
  • Watering shortly before harvest will make your Celery store for longer.
