One of the best varieties of Shallot to grow from seed, Matador consistently produces heavy crops of quality bulbs. The thick reddish brown skin protects the pure white flesh beneath - which is gorgeously crisp and richly flavoured.

Stores very well - and can keep right through to Spring of the following year.

  • Sow March to early May (not before) in seed trays or module trays under protection.
  • Provide a minimum germination temperature of 50°F (10°C), but ideally closer to 60°F (16°C).
  • Set out when large enough to handle 8" (20 cm) apart in rows 8" (20 cm).
  • Top Tips
  • Avoid planting out after the first week in June as bulbs will not mature properly from such late plantings.
  • Keep weed free at all times.
  • Avoid over-watering, but water thoroughly in warm dry spells.

Supplied as a packet of approximately 90 seeds.

Just received the Aloe Vera plant this morning. Excellent condition and looks very healthy. I bought it for my mum as a birthday present (she's wanted on for years) and was very pleased with it! Well worth the money.
