Courgette Seed 'Eight Ball'

Courgette Seed 'Eight Ball'

Cucurbita pepo 'Eight Ball'

This is a variety that produces round fruits like cricket balls or larger!

Bred by the only remaining vegetable seed house breeders in the UK, Tozers.

Why not slice off tops, scoop out flesh and mix with cheese, mince meat or prawns, replace the top and bake in the oven - you will like it.

Can be grown outside but thrives under cloches, in a greenhouse or polytunnel.

Supplied as a packet of 8 seeds.

How To Grow Courgette 'Eight Ball'

Loves a rich soil/compost.
Sow March to April in pots.
Plant out April to June. (later times for outdoor growing)

When sowing, ideally individually in small pots of good seed compost, place seeds on end blunted end pointing downwards in compost, rounded or pointed end uppermost, push into compost out of sight! Water thoroughly and germinate in a temperature of 75°f. When seed leaves are developed reduce temperature to around 65-70°f. Especially important. Do protect newly sown seeds from mice. Mice are notorious in 'sniffing out' seed of this nature!
