Sometimes known as 'Bacchusrebe' - but as Bacchus was the God of Wine (in mythological times) we prefer its commonly accepted name of Bacchus.

Originating from Germany this white variety is similar to Müller-Thurgau in flavour but with a better habit, and is now a popular variety in commercial UK vineyards as it makes a most agreeable wine - but it is also an excellent grape for eating.

  • Originally from Germany.
  • Parentage - (Silvaner x Riesling) x Müller-Thurgau.
  • Mid-Season fruit ripening.
  • Winter wood ripening is fair - so can be grown both outdoors or under protection (greenhouse, polytunnel or conservatory).
  • Can be trained using either the cane replacement method or spur pruning.
  • Self fertile.
  • Fruit contains seeds.

Supplied as a grafted vine approximately 12" - 18" (30 - 45 cm) tall including roots.

Just a note to say how pleased I am with the carnations I ordered earlier this year. They are putting on a tremendous show and the perfume takes me back to sitting in my grandfathers garden in the 1940s.Do you or will you have any different varieties,if soI would like to order.
