Bush or a tree? The reality is mulberries are medium sized trees that naturally grow in a bush form.

Forgetting the fruit for a moment, this really is beautiful ornamental tree - in the Spring and Summer the foliage positively glows, whilst in the Autumn and Winter the stark gnarled framework of branches looks simply stunning.

Mulberries have never really 'made it' commercially as a fruit because they are simply too delicate to travel when ripe and can't really be picked until they are; at least this is one fruit they can't muck up the true flavour of!

Mid Summer the fruits mature to purplish red colour, when they should be picked and eaten soon after - be delicate with them as they crumble easily. Their flavour is truly sublime, and packed with lots of sweet juice.

  • Self Fertile.
  • Fruiting should commence 2 - 3 years from planting.
  • Please note that the foliage on young Mulberry trees is often deeply lobed and does not resemble that of mature trees.
