Blackberry Plant Loch Ness (Thornless)

Description
Bred by the Scottish Crop Research Institute, this relatively new variety has the benefit of not only being thornless but also of being compact in habit - making it ideal for the smaller garden. That compactness in growing habit doesn't affect the fruit size though - with berries weighing in at around 4 grams.
With its slightly more erect growth habit, Loch Ness can be grown in the conventional way on wires - allow approximately 3 feet (90 cm) between plants - or could be planted in amongst raspberries.
Recommended by the RHS to be an excellent attractant and nectar source for bees and other beneficial insects.
