Description

This collection of carrots will certainly bring colour to the dinner table! Vibrant red, vivid purple and sulphur yellow - and they all retain their colour when cooked.

Colour aside, these new varieties produce lovely flavoursome carrots with a gorgeous crisp texture.

Sure to be a novelty hit with children and adults alike, whether they are growing them or eating them raw or cooked!

These are best grown as a maincrop.

  • Sow March-April (under protection) or April to June outside in the open.
  • Sow thinly in rows 12" (30 cm) apart. Sow in ½" (1 cm) deep drills.
  • Thin out to 2 - 3" (5 - 7.5 cm) apart when large enough to handle - make sure you eat the thinnings!
  • Cropping time approximately 90 days.

Top Tips

  • A useful tip to deter carrot fly is to water the rows with our BioFriend Plant-Defence when you thin or hoe your carrots - this will keep the fly away! And always remember to dispose of the thinnings - left on the ground they attract carrot fly.
  • As an alternative, always keep plants covered with insect netting.
  • Carrots left in the open ground or stored in clamp beds should be covered with straw to protect from frost.
