How Hot Is That?...Chilli Pepper Heat Guide
Supplied as a packet of approximately 5 seeds.
This Product is Available Now.This is officially the hottest Chilli in the World - knocking the more-than-warm Trinidad Moruga Scorpion off the top spot! Bred in the United Sates by Ed Currie, this is a cross between the Pakistani Naga and a Red Habanero from the Caribbean Island of St Vincent.
Ignoring the heat for a moment (if that is possible) the fruits have a wonderful fruity flavour with all the richness and smokiness that can be expected from a relative of a Habanero; this really is a gorgeously well balanced flavour!
Fruits average a blistering 1.5 million SHUs but have been measured as hot as 2.2 million SHUs. This is not a Chilli for the uninitiated!
Rounded fruits measure around 2" (5 cm) in diameter and have a characteristic pointed 'tail'. The crinkled skin matures from green to a bright scarlet red.
Growing to around 3 feet (90 cm) tall the plants have a fairly compact habit and a good strong stem system, making them ideal for cutting back and over-wintering.
To ensure good germination a constant compost temperature of 82° - 86° f (28° - 30° C) is recommended. Germination can be slow and take three weeks or more.
