Just to let you know that the final part of my order, 'Ladybird' Poppies, arrived all in fine shape and looking very healthy. Now potted on and having a rest after the journey. I was absolutely delighted with the violets that I ordered previously and I'll certainly order more at some point now that I know they're happy here. I've been telling gardening friends that they really MUST visit your site!

Each fruit is the size of a small apple, hence it commonly being known as 'Apple Cucumber' - but as its fruit is a pale yellow in colour when ready to eat its actually called 'Crystal Lemon'.
Reputed to be more digestible than many other cucumbers, this has a mild sweet flavour and is very juicy - just make sure they don't get too large or take on a more golden colour as the skins become bitter. This is an excellent variety for pickling also.
The habit of the plant can be quite sprawling but these can be tied into a trellis or similar.
An interesting novelty variety and a fun favourite with children.
As this is what is known as a 'Ridge Type' it is suitable for outdoor growing, frame growing or growing in a polytunnel or greenhouse. There is no need to remove male flowers on this variety.
Recommended by the RHS to be an excellent attractant and nectar source for bees and other beneficial insects.
