Our Feedback
Following an attack of cellulitis around my ankle, I developed a painful leg ulcer that was slow to respond to conventional treatment. Then I read the article on your site about Aloe Vera, and promptly ordered a large plant, which arrived quickly in excellent condition. No, it was not an overnight cure, but perseverance over a number of weeks resulted in a completely healed ulcer, just as promised. To guard against reinfection, I rub a little juice on the vulnerable area each night. Also, I suffer from contact dermatitis, and find the juice is excellent for taking the itch out of a rash, and promoting healing. My heartfelt thanks for the information, and for the super plant which, potted on into a large container and standing by my kitchen patio door, grows bigger every day. I will be recommending Aloe Vera to all my family and friends - definitely a 'must have' plant.

Qty:

Sometimes known as the 'ground bean', Tendergreen is a splendid heavy-cropping, tasty variety for open ground growing or starting under cloches. Being both dwarf in habit and self supporting this is the perfect variety for those who don't want the bother of putting up tall netting or similar structures as required for Climbing French Beans.

The pale green pods often display distinct purple markings (which disappear on cooking) and are virtually stringless. Flavour is excellent and they have a lovely crunch when eaten raw - they freeze really well too.

  • For Growing Outside
  • Sow mid April to mid July 3" (7.5 cm) apart in rows 18" (45 cm) apart
  • Sow in 2" (5 cm) deep drills.
  • Whilst there is no need to provide any support whatsoever, you will find that the crop will stay cleaner and more off the ground (so easier to pick) if you use pea sticks or similar to a height of a couple of feet (60cm).
  • For Growing Under Protection
  • Sow March to May 3" (7.5 cm) apart in rows 18" (45 cm) apart.
  • Sow in 2" (5 cm) deep drills.
  • You can also grow in large tubs or pots.
  • Whilst there is no need to provide any support whatsoever, you will find that the crop will stay cleaner and more off the ground (so easier to pick) if you use pea sticks or similar to a height of a couple of feet (60cm).
  • Top Tips
  • These thrive in warm conditions and so are an ideal crop to grow under protection - greenhouse or polytunnel.
  • Whilst they will prove drought tolerant, good watering from flowering time onwards will ensure maximum pod development.
  • Mulch around the stems in early summer.
