This stunning bright yellow French bean not only looks sensation but tastes it too!  Great for cheering up salads when eaten raw (and put with Tendergreen and Purple Queen makes for a rainbow coloured meal) or cooked and served for dinner in the more traditional way.

This is a high-yielding dwarf bean plant that produces pods approximately 6" (15 cm) long, about pencil thickness and straight. The best thing about this bean is that  it keeps its colour when it's cooked.

  • Resistant to Bean Common Mosaic Virus and Anthracnose.
  • Reaches approximately 18" (45 cm) tall.

  • For Growing Under Protection
  • Sow under glass from February onwards
  • Germinate between 15°C - 30°C
  • Transplant when large enough to handle.
  • Whilst there is no need to provide any support whatsoever, you will find that the crop will stay cleaner and more off the ground (so easier to pick) if you use pea sticks or similar.
  • For Growing Outside
  • Sow direct into the open ground from May until mid July (when night time temperatures warm up).
  • Plant 8" (20 cm) apart in rows 18" (45 cm) apart.
  • Sow 2" (5 cm) deep.
  • Harvest from July onwards.
  • You can also grow in large tubs or pots.
  • Whilst there is no need to provide any support whatsoever, you will find that the crop will stay cleaner and more off the ground (so easier to pick) if you use pea sticks or similar.

  • Top Tips
  • These thrive in warm conditions and so are an ideal crop to grow under protection - greenhouse or polytunnel.
  • Mulch around the stems in early Summer.
