Our Feedback
We were delighted when we received our Black Hamburgh grape vine from Victoriana Nursery Garden. However, having nurtured it for 2 seasons, it failed to progress. We contacted the nursery to let them know of the vines failure and provided some photographs of both the vine and the container it was planted in. Victoriana Nursery had no hesitation in offering to replace the vine. We are delighted with the high level of customer service we have received. Thank you Victoriana we will certainly be shopping with you in the future. From a very satisfied customer.

Sometimes known as 'Bacchusrebe' - but as Bacchus was the God of Wine (in mythological times) we prefer its commonly accepted name of Bacchus.

Originating from Germany this white variety is similar to Müller-Thurgau in flavour but with a better habit, and is now a popular variety in commercial UK vineyards as it makes a most agreeable wine - it is also an excellent grape for eating.

  • Originally from Germany.
  • Parentage - (Silvaner x Riesling) x Müller-Thurgau.
  • Mid-season fruit ripening.
  • Winter wood ripening is fair - so can be grown both outdoors or under protection (greenhouse, polytunnel or conservatory).
  • Can be trained using either the cane replacement method or spur pruning.
  • Self fertile.
  • Fruit contains seeds.
