Vitis vinifera 'Huxelrebe'

  • Eating / Wine Grape.
  • Large pale yellow fruits are packed full of sugar and have a delicate Muscat flavour.
  • Early to ripen.
  • Suitable for outdoor and protected cropping.
  • Self Fertile.

Whilst not being a true 'Muscat' grape, the fruits of this large fruiting grape take on a lovely sweetness and gorgeous Muscat flavour. This is an excellent grape for eating as well as juicing - and in the wine industry is used for primarily for making high end sweet aperitif of dessert wines.

  • Originally from Germany.
  • Parentage: Gutedel x Courtiller Musqué.
  • Early-season fruit ripening.
  • Winter wood ripening is good - so can be grown both outdoors or under protection (greenhouse, polytunnel or conservatory).
  • Can be trained using either the cane replacement method or spur pruning.
  • Self fertile.
  • Fruit contains seeds.
