Our Feedback
I have bought many blanket weed contol pond additives in the past and have become increasingly annoyed that none of them work. I used your victoriana product last week and was amazed to see a vast improvement overnight and now, just a few days later, the infestation has been cleared. Brilliant - I can highly reccomend it. Thanks

How To Plant & Grow Box-Leaved Hedging

This evergreen, compact-habit hedge is winter-hardy if grown in the ground. Container-grown plants will benefit from some winter root protection.

For hedges with a planned height of up to 2 ft (60cm) tall, plant 7" (17.5cm) apart.

For hedges with a planned height of over 2 ft (60cm) tall, plant 12" (30cm) or even further apart.

The plants reach an ultimate height of 8-12 ft (2.5-3.5m). They can be trimmed to any height above 8" (20cm). Average annual growth rate is 8-12" (20-30cm). The hedge will reach an ultimate width of around 6 ft (1.8m), but can be trimmed to any width in excess of 6" (15cm).

Box-leaved hedging grows well in most soil types (including chalky and clay) except those prone to lying very wet. It likes a soil that is humus-rich and well drained (box-leaved hedging should not be over-watered). It is suitable for most aspects, from full sun to partial shade.

You can plant box-leaved hedging all year round, except when the ground is frozen solid. If this is the case, store the plants in a frost-free place (such as a shed or a garage) until they can be planted. Ensure they do not dry out.

This plant is protected by the Plant Variety Rights system. Illegal propagation without a licence will lead to prosecution.

    On Arrival

Under no circumstances should you use any stimulants, fertiliser or bonemeal at planting time as such products will 'burn' any new root growth and slow your plants' development.

Water thoroughly if ground is dry.

    Aftercare

It is essential to keep your developing hedge free of weed competiton. In extended dry periods ensure your plants are watered thoroughly at least once a week; this is even more critical on lighter soils.

Trimming/pruning is best undertaken in May and September.

Please note that the berries that may appear on Box-leaved Hedging are poisonous.
