Serena shows just how easy it is to plant compost block-grown Asparagus plants - far easier than conventional Asparagus crowns which need planting on ridges.
And to prove that long-term the results are the same both ways she shows us a four-year-old plant that was planted in just the way she is doing.
A tried and trusted heritage variety from the 1800's with an excellent flavour. Large and thick spears are produced in abundance. Adaptable and very reliable.
