Have been meaning to contact you for ages to thank you Serena for packing up the three fruit trees which we collected enroute from France on 31st March. I planted the trees two days later and they are doing well.Very many thanks.

Description

In recent years there have been attempts to improve on the late Mr Russell's hybrids of this easily grown herbaceous plant that comes every year (whatever weather may be thrown at it) - but in our opinion the Russell Hybrids just cannot beaten.

This is Molly's (age now 20) favourite flower - and at home she has planted these both in the ground as well as a variety of tubs and containers - everywhere!

Herbaceous in habit, these die back to 'nothing' in winter - but come the spring bright green highly cut leaves emerge on long stems forming bushy clumps. And then, as if by magic (which is why Molly loves these), tall spires of flower emerge in shades of cream, pink, white, yellow, blues and purples - virtually every colour of the rainbow!

  • Flower June to July.
  • Grow to approximately 3 - 4 feet (90 - 150 cm) tall.
  • Thrive in sun or part.
  • Prefer a rich and moist soil, but will perform well even in poorer and more drained soils.
