Description

An old, well-tried and tested variety with a mild and pleasing taste. Onions are medium to large in size and somewhat flat in shape. Consistently, this variety crops very well.

Whilst gorgeously sweet when cooked they are particularly attractive for garnishing and salads as they show distinct crimson rings against the white flesh of the onion when sliced - and are mild enough to be eaten raw.

Red Brunswick also stores exceptionally well and will keep well into spring.

Recommended by the RHS to be an excellent attractant and nectar source for bees and other beneficial insects if allowed to 'go over' and flower (so if you have room leave any plants in that have gone too far rather than pulling them out straight away).
