Description
These stunning alliums have a large ball like violet flower head made up of lots of smaller star shaped flower around May to June time with a lovely scent. They are loved by pollinating insects.
Sometimes known as Star of Persia or the Persian Onion and is a member of the amaryllidaceae family. Aflatunense originates from Central Asia where it grows in the mountain meadows.
- Flower approximately May-June
- Perennial.
- Reach approximately 3 feet (100 cm) tall.
- Plant approximately 20" (50 cm) apart.
- Loves a full sun position.
- Prefer a drier position (not water logged)
- Make a good cut flower.
