Description

Cristophii is a stunning large silver / lilac ball of star flowers all over it which looks a bit like a horticultural sparkler!

The giant balls can reach 8" (20 cm) in diameter with the pink / lilac flowers all over it and have a metallic shreen to them. The plants have a grey / green leaf stem which fades as the flowers open and become more dominant. The seed heads that follow are also pleasing on the eye. Such a crowd pleaser than no garden is complete without them!

This variety is sometimes know as the star of Persia.

Can be grown in open ground or in pots (with free draining soil).

  • Perennial habit.
  • Flowers in June - July.
  • Reaches approx 15 - 20" (40 - 50 cm) tall.
  • Plants 8" (20 cm) apart and 6" (15 cm) deep.
  • Likes a full sun, well drained position.

  • Can be used as cut and dried flowers.

Recommended by the RHS to be an excellent attractant and nectar source for bees and other beneficial insects.

Do NOT eat the ornamental bulbs.
