Description

Beautiful little, tightly packed, lilac/purple flowers are each tipped with creamy white edge and highly scented and about the size of a tennis ball. These alliums have curled green leaves that fade as the flowers form in early Summer. These really are spectacular and your pollinating insects will agree!

Please note these bulbs are surprising large!

Can be grown in open ground or in pots (with free draining soil) and can work well in the back of an ornamental grass border given their height and colour.

  • Perennial habit.
  • Flowers in June.
  • Reaches approx 48 - 60" (120 - 150 cm) tall.
  • Plants 12" (30 cm) apart.
  • Likes a full sun, well drained position.

  • Makes a good cut and dried flower.

Recommended by the RHS to be an excellent attractant and nectar source for bees and other beneficial insects.

Do NOT eat the ornamental bulbs.
