Recovering From The Scorcher!

For us it has been an incredibly busy year - we haven't seemed to stop since coming back after the Christmas break...

But now, as the planting and sowing season takes its natural early Summer break, we get a chance for a break too! Not a break in the true sense of the word, more a chance to draw breath, take stock of where we are and plan for the weeks and months ahead - and, most importantly, have a bit of a tidy up

The warm weather has meant that everything in our veg tunnel is growing at an incredible rate - it looks like we're on target for our Tomato Tasting Week (7 - 12 August) and should have just over 85 varieties on taste. Similarly the Chillies and Peppers are starting to get into their stride now, ensuring Challock Chilli Fest will be a more than hot event!

Outside the veg garden has also caught up from our late start and now, like everyone else, we can start to reap the rewards - the 'hungry gap' has most certainly passed!

Don't forget to keep up to date with where we are with our sowings, propagation and plantings at the nursery by following us on Twitter, Facebook or Google+ as we post our daily updates and general banter with a grin!
