The End Of An Interesting Growing Year
So that's it for another year - and what an 'interesting' growing year it has been for us!...
January started mild - then along came the Beast From The East! And then the cold and dull weather remained making production slower and harder.
Then just as we thought the weather was settling into a normal British Summer, along came the heat wave - crippling amounts of watering and the first time ever we have stopped plant production due to excessive failures.
That just leaves Autumn! With the early cold snap we thought we were in for an easy Autumn lifting season - but instead it returned to being warm and dry - making it the latest we have ever been in getting all our bare root plants out of the ground.
It's often said that we gardeners moan too much about the weather - this year we think its justified!
But for now, all we have left to say is a big thank you to all our customers (our gardening friends) for the orders you have placed with us; it may have been an interesting growing year - but its also been a busy one!
In the gardening calendar things may slow down a little bit just now - but its also time to plan for the New Year ahead. So relax a little, but not too much!
